Finishing ChipBreaker Design
- This tool incorporates the compression spiral Up/Dpown design with chipbreakers ground in the cutting edge of the downcut section of the flutes. The chipbreakers are staggered to produce a clean finish while aiding in chip removal. Recommended for hardwoods and plywoods where edge finish quality is critical. Better chip evacuation from the cut prevents chip recutting that causes a rough or fuzzy finish.

I have been using this 1/4” compression bit for several production runs and am very impressed. I’ve been able to cut at a deeper depth of cut than other tools I’ve used as well as keeping my feed rates the same if not faster. The surface finish in plywood has been the best I’ve had yet with no need for additional edge work. Super happy I heard about RIP and glad to have them in my shop. I plan on adding more of their other bits as well.
